For the last day of Figline's Festival of Forgiveness, Tuesday, Sept. 3, major initiatives are expected:
at 1 p.m. will start from the Circolo Arci in Incisa the 42nd Giro del Valdarno by the G.S. Nuovo Pedale di Figline. Arrival in Piazza Marsilio Ficino is scheduled for 5 p.m.
In the historic center of Figline, the Contrade will parade at 9 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m. they will compete in the Palio a Cavallo, the fifth and final race for the 47th Palio di San Rocco. This will be followed by the proclamation of the winning Contrada.
The Festival will close at midnight with a fireworks display by Soldi Company.
The events scheduled for the Palio are organized by Pro Loco Marsilio Ficino and are sponsored by the City of Figline and Incisa Valdarno.
From Aug. 30 to Sept. 3, Marsilio Ficino Square and St. Francis Square will host candy and street food stalls.
Tickets can be purchased to watch in the stands for the events scheduled for Saturday and Tuesday evenings at the Tourist Office at the Praetorian Palace, open Monday through Saturday (9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m./16:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.) excluding Wednesday afternoon.
