The Blessing of the Animals and Blessing of the Grain is back again this year in Figline. It is a tradition now in its 11th year that is held in conjunction with the Feast of St. Anthony Abbot, protector of animals, scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. in Ficino Square. For the occasion, all citizens are invited to participate by bringing their animals with them.
This will be followed by a greeting from the authorities and a blessing ceremony.
The initiative is organized by the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Policies, together with the Knights of the Crags and in collaboration with Coldiretti, Pro loco Marsilio Ficino, Casa della Civiltà contadina and Confederazione Italiana Agricoltori.
