It is called "Ma che razza! Practically different" and it is the interactive exhibition against racism, promoted by Unicoop Firenze and set up by Koiné, which will be open to the public at the Palazzo Pretorio in Figline until 18 May for schools only by prior booking by calling 055.4225621 (UniCoop Centre for Educational Proposals).
The extraordinary opening to the public, on the other hand, is set for Thursday 17 May , at 2.30 p.m., again with prior booking (by calling the Arezzo Centre for Educational Proposals, 0575.328238, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or by calling 335.1933323. A maximum of 25 people will be accepted).
The exhibition is constructed as an exhibition focusing on the concept of race and is divided into two paths, renamed 'Journey through Prejudices' and 'Laboratory of Ideas'. The first is articulated as a true simulation, in which visitors will find themselves projected into a science-fiction (but very realistic) future, playing the role of economic migrants. They will, therefore, have to deal with problems such as the issuing of entry visas and identity documents, the recognition of professional qualifications already possessed, and suffer discriminatory and prejudiced attitudes. The second route, on the other hand, starts from the visitors' imagination about the concepts of race and racism and the cultural mechanisms underlying prejudice and stereotypes, to lead them to reflect on the weight all this has in their daily lives. With the help of multimedia tools, the visitors (organised in small groups) will also have to solve puzzles, provide definitions, carry out tests, in order to reflect on the theme of the exhibition.
