Saturday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. at the Garibaldi's Ridotto continues the "Invitation to Listening" series, which the Garibaldi Theater Chorus is organizing to delve into the texts, music, historical context and authors of the Garibaldi's Concert Season pieces.
Curating the six appointments is the Choir's director, Alessandro Papini, who offers them a few days before the relevant concert and who from time to time finds (and explains) what is the common thread that unites the various composers and works on the set list on each date, when the Orchestra della Toscana will be on stage together with big names from the world of music. The next concert lecture, titled "Beethoven and the Symphony; the Beginnings, will be held at the Ridotto del Garibaldi (Piazza Serristori), where works by Boccadoro and Prokof'ev will also be offered. All this will be in conjunction with the Ort Concert, scheduled for Friday, March 29, at 9 p.m. at the Garibaldi Theater, where pianist Malofeev and conductor Hoffmann will perform.
Instead, these are the next dates of the "Invitation to Listening" review: March 30 (on "The Eclecticism of Richard Strauss," in which Bartók will also be discussed); May 4 (focus on Arensky, Cˇajkovsky and Rubinsˇtein in the meeting titled "The Demon and the Cello," inspired by the title of a Rubinsˇtein opera).
This is a way to bring lovers of the genre, but above all new audiences, closer to the Theater, with a special focus on young people aged 15 to 25. Not coincidentally, these meetings are part of a larger project titled "It's not culture for old people," implemented with the help of Fondazione CR Firenze as part of "Nuovi Pubblici. Call for programs to expand and develop audiences for the performing arts," and promoted by the City Council in partnership with Arca Azzurra Teatro, Conkarma and the Garibaldi Theater Chorus.
The main actions of the project also include: theater workshops, conception and preparation of drama performances, meetings with industry professionals, in-depth musical concert lectures, interviews with the audience of the theater season, and involvement of Valdarno high school students(School-to-work alternation) as audiences and as protagonists of various activities.
