On Nov. 26 at 9 p.m. at the Garibaldi Theater (Serristori Square, Figline) there will be a concert in support of the "Together for Meyer" project, sponsored by Circolo Fanin and Circolo Uniarno under the patronage of the City Council.
The concert is part of initiatives to support the Meyer Foundation, in particular the oncohematology department of the Florentine children's hospital to which precisely all proceeds from the evening will go.
Opera, then, returns to Teatro Garibaldi with "Music in the Heart," which will have an exceptional cast: among the artists are Luca Canonici, a celebrated tenor from Valdarno, soprano Laura Andreini, mezzo-soprano Laura Brioli and Elena Giachi on piano. Along with the opera singers will be the Teatro Garibaldi Chorus conducted by Maestro Alessandro Papini and the Orchestra of the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca conducted by Gerhard Lessky, an established Viennese conductor.
The concert will be divided into two halves and will include numerous pieces, arias and famous choruses from the Italian and European traditions: from Trovatore to Traviata, from Carmen to Offenbach's Barcarola, and even Händel's majestic coronation hymn "Zadok."
