It will be Ambra Angiolini and Matteo Cremon returning to the Figlino stage, Saturday , Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 4 at 4:30 p.m., with the play"The War of the Roses," directed by Filippo Dini.
The story - based on a novel by Warren Adler and made famous by the film of the same name, starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner - recounts the separation between Mr. and Mrs. Rose. He (played by Matteo Cremon) is a brilliant businessman, she (Ambra Angiolini) an obedient but never resigned wife who has always accompanied him in his career. The staging of their marital crisis will result in a succession of nastiness, revenge and violence (including psychological) that, although with traits of comedy, represent a critique of the family institution, its hypocrisies, its skeletons in the closet and, above all, the respectability of American bourgeois philosophy.
Ambra Angiolini returns to the Garibaldi after the 2010-2011 Prose Season, which saw her star in "I pugni in tasca." Matteo Cremon, on the other hand, a starred at the Garibaldi in 2015-2016 in "The Taming of the Shrew."
