From the field to the table: Waiting for Autumnia is back, a journey to (re)discover Tuscan cuisine
In anticipation of the great fair dedicated to agriculture, food and the environment, 'Waiting for Autumnia' is back: seven events over five weekends and a route 'from the field to the table', rediscovering Tuscan cuisine and its ingredients through tastings, walks, guided tours and conferences.
It continues on Saturday, Oct. 16, with a "Trekking a Km 0," an easy hike of about 8 kilometers with stops at four local farms. Departure at 9:30 a.m. from the Church of Scampata, on Via del Cesto in Figline, from where hiking guide Oliviero Buccianti will lead through a loop between pastures and woods, where it is easy to find some of the best-known ingredients of Tuscan cuisine. From the flours of ancient grains with which cookies and all baked goods are made by Il Poderino, to the autumn vegetables grown by Vivaio Mulinacci; from the grains and typical legumes of the Longini farm to the cheeses of Podere Casa al Bosco, with tasting accompanied by some wines from Villa Casagrande.
Participation costs 15 euros, reservation required online (by clicking here) or at 055 9125304.
