It will be a theatrical performance with a sports-history theme the one scheduled at Figline's Garibaldi (Serristori Square) for Feb. 25 and 26. It will be brought to the stage by Federico Buffa, who will come to town for the first time with the show "The 1936 Olympics," written by himself together with Emilio Russo, Paolo Frusca and Jvan Sica and directed by Emilio Russo and Caterina Spadaro (Tieffe Teatro Produzione).
Starting with the narrative of one of the most controversial editions of the Olympic Games, which took place in Germany at the height of the Nazi regime, the well-known sports reporter and commentator recounts how what was supposed to be a celebration of the Aryan race (at least according to Hitler and Goebbels' expectations) became a symbol of equality and the highest sporting values through healthy competition among athletes from all over the world.
On stage in addition to Federico Buffa, who plays the part of Commander Wolfgang Fürstner, will be musicians Alessandro Nidi, Nadio Marenco and young singer Cecilia Gragnani. The three will play the roles of characters evoked by the protagonist who, in recalling the summer of 1936, would like to relive the events.
The date is set for Saturday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. ("A" round subscription) and Sunday, Feb. 26 at 4:30 p.m. ("C" round subscription).
