On Saturday, May 19, the third of the workshops entitled "Geppetto and Pinocchio: parents, children and wooden toys" will be held at Il Giardino social center (Dalla Chiesa gardens in Figline, 3:30-6:30 p.m.). It is a total of four meetings dedicated to children and adults and organized by the associations Il Giardino, Uisp Valdarno, Missing Rings Valdarno, Ciclofficina and Engineering Good Solace. Curating the individual meetings is the cultural association Ingegneria del Buon sollazzo, which makes wooden toys from discarded materials and promotes socialization and social integration.
The purpose of this series of appointments is to entertain participants, making them rediscover traditional games and fostering relationships, including among people of different age groups. In addition, the association promotes the use of wooden games, with a view to avoiding the abuse of electronic ones and combating gambling.
All workshops are free of charge but, to access the spaces, you will need to apply for a membership card (annual cost of the card: 5 euros). Access for minors, however, is allowed only if accompanied by an adult.
The last event will be held on Saturday, June 23.
