On Saturday 5 March at 10.30 am, a yoga workshop for children aged 5 to 8 will be held at the Marsilio Ficino Library.
"Let's have fun with yoga" aims to introduce yoga to children from a playful point of view, using their language, i.e. imagination. Therefore, the proposed activities are fun and designed to intrigue them and stimulate their creativity. The typical lesson is structured according to a sinusoidal flow: dynamic moments are followed by more relaxing ones, so as to naturally accompany the child through the free expression of his or her liveliness and a deep listening to himself or herself. Each activity is designed to restore a global identity, where the physical, psychic and emotional components are considered as three different manifestations of a single essence: the child as a growing person. This approach has the precise intention of allowing the child's personality to develop harmoniously, enabling them to discover their potential and express it to the full, increasing their level of self-esteem.

Comfortable clothing such as tracksuits and non-slip socks is recommended. For hygienic reasons, participants should bring their own mat (all types of non-slip mats from the gym, yoga, camping, etc. are fine).
Main project components:
❖ THE GAME: the playful component is the basis of the project, as it is the privileged language for getting to the heart of the child.
❖ THE ASANA: by associating yoga postures with the names of plants, animals and elements found in nature, children are inspired by their surroundings to better understand their bodies.
❖ STORIES FOR GROWING: they are a vehicle for learning about the world and contain insights into such fundamental principles as friendship and social relationships.
ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES: they allow the child to express his or her inner world through creativity.
❖ SILENCE: fundamental key for focusing attention inward, for listening to one's own emotions and thoughts.
