Until 2016 'Meetings in the Library' for young people and adults. For children "Tom Thumb's crumbs" coming soon
"Tom Thumb's Crumbs" and "Meetings in the Library": these are the names of the two free events that will be held, starting this autumn, in municipal libraries and the BiblioCoop reading point.
On the programme are aperitifs, presentations of new arrivals, music readings, poetry readings, workshops and many other events, designed for young and old and organised by the municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno in cooperation with the 'Zimmer club' association and the BiblioCoop.
And it is precisely the review dedicated to children and young people, entitled "The Crumbs of Tom Thumb" that will inaugurate these first three months of meetings. It starts on Saturday 24 October at 10.00 a.m. in the "Marsilio Ficino" library in Figline (via Locchi, tel. 055.9125290) with a two-hour workshop entitled "Building a nature diary", dedicated to children aged 5 to 10 and organised by the Zimmer club (maximum 12 participants, accompanied by an adult). The following Saturday will be repeated in Incisa, in the "Gilberto Rovai" library (piazza Parri 23, tel. 055.8335491 ) with the workshop "Numbers in play", designed for children aged 6 to 10 (maximum 8 participants, accompanied by an adult).
In both cases, for information and bookings, please contact the association on 349.2126099. The workshops, games and animated readings will continue in November and December (17, 21 and 28 November; 1, 12 and 22 December) and will also involve schools (18 and 25 November; 2, 9 and 16 December). The "Meetings in the Library" series, on the other hand, designed for a more adult audience, will start on Wednesday 28 October.
At 5 p.m., in fact, the 'M. Ficino' library will host an aperitif to present the new books and films included in the catalogue and available for loan. Subsequent appointments are set for November and December, when there will be book presentations in the company of the authors (13 November in the 'Ficino' library, with Luca Decembri; 5 December in the 'Rovai' library, with Marco Vichi), thematic music readings (14 November and 19 December, 'Ficino' library), readings accompanied by tea, offered by the 'Rovai' library (24 November and 15 December) and another aperitif presenting the new acquisitions, this time in the BiblioCoop reading point (25 November).
"We thought of creating fixed appointments in these places," commented councillor Chiosi, "to bring all citizens closer to reading and to offer those who already frequent libraries and reading points an extra opportunity to socialise, meet and share interests. Wewould like, in fact, for going to the library to become a habit and, for this reason, we have come up with two different calendars of events, each suitable fordifferent age groups".
