As always, on the occasion of the concerts on the bill at the Garibaldi, the Theater Choir offers the opportunity to learn more about their music and authors with an afternoon meeting curated by Alessandro Papini.
The next of theselistening guides is titled "Quotation and Allusion between Classical and Modern" and will be held on Saturday, April 7, at 6 p.m . at the Ridotto del Garibaldi (Piazza Serristori, Figline; free admission). The title of the meeting comes from the essay that Alfred Schnittke published in 1971, in which he described the polystylism on which he based his compositions, beginning with theunion between the principle of quotation and that of allusion.
In fact, the next scheduled concert at the Garibaldi on April 10 will be dedicated precisely to Alfred Schnittke, whose works the Orchestra della Toscana will perform: Sonata for Violin and Piano (1968 version for violin, harpsichord and chamber orchestra); Moz-Art à la Haydn (1977). Also played during the evening will be Franz Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 60 in C Major "Il Distratto."
Conducting the Ort on April 10 in Figline will be maestro Lorenza Borrani. Also on stage with her will be harpsichordist Anthony Romaniuk and violinist Chiara Morandi.
