On Saturday, Oct. 5, the unveiling of the "Niccolini" plaque, honoring tragedian Giovan Battista Niccolini and his brother Achille, a career soldier and Gonfalonier of Incisa , will be held at Villa di Tracolle in Incisa (Tracolle 2 location). The choice of location is not accidental: the Villa of Tracolle has long been owned by the Niccolini Family.
At 6:15 p.m. the event sponsored by the Tuscan Coordination of Risorgimento Committees will begin: it will be a moment of sharing a great achievement, for the descendants, but also for the whole community, because the plaque is designed with the purpose of keeping alive the memory of these important people.
Representatives of the Niccolini family, the Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno, Francesca Farini, the president of the Tuscan Coordination of Risorgimento Committees, Fabio Bertini, and Cinzia Lodi, an art historian and scholar of local history, along with the current owners of the Villa will be present.
The "footprints" that the Niccolini brothers left on the hills of Incisa during the 19th century are the subject of interest of scholar Cinzia Lodi, who for years has been engaged in researching news about Giovan Battista, Achille and the friends they loved to surround themselves with.
