It is set for Saturday, March 19, at 5 p.m., the opening of the exhibition "Wind of War, Stories of Men and Weapons in World War II." It is a traveling exhibition - curated by ArcheoClub, in collaboration with Banca Valdarno and the municipalities of Figline and Incisa Valdarno, Montevarchi and Cavriglia - that will be on view free of charge at Palazzo Pretorio (Piazza San Francesco, Figline) until April 30.
The theme of the exhibit is precisely World War II, which will be told through pictures, uniforms and military memorabilia, as well as everyday objects. The goal, in fact, is to raise awareness of life in Valdarno during those difficult years, so as to preserve the historical memory. All this will be done with the collaboration of large and small collectors in the area who are passionate about that historical period.
The exhibition will be open free of charge during the following hours: Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will also be possible to book guided tours on other days of the week by calling 334.2320815.
After the stage in Figlino (March 19-April 30), the exhibition will then move to the Mineo Museum in Castelnuovo di Sabbioni, Cavriglia, where it will remain from May 7 to July 16.
