On Saturday, May 27 at 5 p.m., Petrarca FIV the literary competition, sponsored by the City of Figline and Incisa Valdarno in collaboration with the cultural association L'Eco del Nulla and dedicated to short fiction and unpublished short stories, has indeed reached its final stage.
The ten finalist stories chosen by the popular jury, after an initial selection by the editorial staff and a second selection made during the two evenings of readings of the works and public voting.
The works were judged by the technical jury consisting of writer Veronica Galletta, Martin Hofer, editor of L'inquieto magazine, Luca Verduchi, publisher and editor of Alter Ego Edizioni, and writer Marco Marrucci.
The jury, after a lengthy discussion, awarded seven short stories: "Minefields" by Ilaria Petrarca, "So Low" by Beatrice La Tella, "The City Below" by Andrea Cappuccini, "The Matter of the Carabo" by Thomas Lisa, "The Footsteps of Darkness" by Giulio Iovine, "The Secret of the Dustmen" by Francesco Pone (all for the General Section of the Petrarch.Fiv competition) and "Hilde's Boat" by Alberto Grechi (for the Figline and Incisa Valdarno Special Section).
The volume, will be presented during the award ceremony scheduled for Saturday, May 27 at Casa Petrarca. On that occasion, the overall winner, who will be awarded a cash prize of 300 euros, will be announced.
The collection was edited by Leonardo Ducros, and the illustrations are by illustrator Lisa Gelli of the Le Vanvere collective.
