On Thursday 31 March at 5pm, Paolo Gualandi will read Orizzonte Mobile, the tale of a journey to the deepest and most radical of the Souths, Antarctica, a celestial body inhabited by millions of penguins. Exploring an icy South that preserves in its ices the stories of those who inhabited it, of those who tried to reach it: adventurous men with an often tragic and emblematic destiny who pushed their way into that heart of dazzling darkness. As he narrates his own Antarctic expedition, Daniele Del Giudice retraces the notebooks of those courageous expeditions of the past otherwise unknown to most, with shipwrecks, ships imprisoned for months on end in the ice, indomitable crews, sailors on the brink of despair or annihilated by madness: these are the last true tales of adventure, which have fixed the myth and memory of this terra incognita.
