It is called Libernarrando and is the new review of theatrical events organised by the municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno to promote literature, using music and theatre. It is in fact five scenic readings that, from February to May, will be presented by actors to musical accompaniment, at the Ridotto of the Garibaldi Theatre (Piazza Serristori, always at 5.30 p.m.). The music is all original, created especially for the festival by local singer-songwriters, who will perform it personally on the dates of the shows. Thestands of the 'La Parola' and 'Mondadori Point'bookshops will also be present during the five evenings.
It starts on Saturday 13 February with an appointment organised by the Materiali Sonori cooperative (a musical and cultural workshop, as well as an independent label, in San Giovanni Valdarno) and the Arezzo theatre company Cantiere Artaud. The reading chosen for the occasion is 'Blindness' by José Saramago: a novel centred on the story of a strange epidemic that causes blindness and spreads throughout the city, starting with a man driving his car. Chiara Cappelli and Ciro Gallorano will recite some passages from the work, with original music by Arlo Bigazzi.
Admission: single show 5 euro; full subscription 20 euro; free for children up to 14 years .
