On the occasion of the Bibilioteca festival on Saturday 26 March at 5pm, Maurizia Fossi presents the book La macchia mediterranea e altri guai (L'Erudita, 2021), by Irene Romano, in the presence of the author
Irene and Claudia are two girls in their thirties. It was their work that brought them together a few years ago, but what unites them now is also a deep friendship. The same friendship that at a certain point, overwhelmed by the fast-paced and frenetic pace of everyday life, drives them to embark on a bizarre adventure. Ten days of walking, more than three hundred kilometres of ups and downs, encounters and unforeseen events, which page after page will allow us to answer the question: what happens if two friends set out to walk across Liguria? From Sanremo to the Cinque Terre, La macchia mediterranea e altri guai is the tale of a handful of days discovering the lesser-known and more authentic corners of a marvellous region. The tale of a lively and exciting enterprise, which will not spare the two young women moments of fatigue and discouragement. Not everything, in fact, will go as planned and often in order to get ahead they will have to pull out ingenuity and irony, and invent a plan B, counting, as always, on friendship.
