Fabrizio Tempesti Photography Exhibition - A journey through the Meadow of welcome and solidarity
It is the city of Prato that is the protagonist of the photo exhibition to be held Nov. 12-26 at the FIAF Galleries, with photos from the monographic volumes that Fabrizio Tempesti has dedicated to the everyday life of ordinary people, solidarity and hope. This is the Prato of welcome and solidarity.
Opening of the exhibition - Saturday, November 12 at 3:30 p.m.
Exhibition hours: Tuesday and Thursday 4-6 pm; Friday 9-11 pm.
Tempesti's trilogy
First volume - "Different stories of ordinary people" (2014)
La Pira Canteen, with its volunteers, interfaces with the reality of suffering that inhabits the daily lives of those who have nothing or have lost everything, meeting the basic needs of human beings.
Volume Two - "The Shadow of Light" (2019)
Sixty-two photographs that, in a true hymn to life, serve as courageous accounts of a world inhabited by the visually impaired and blind.
Volume Three - "Kepos in Prato, a garden pulsing to the rhythm of the heart" (2022)
The unnatural everyday life of a community living in the pandemic in the form of a photographic narrative testifying to courage and resilience.
The Photographer - Fabrizio Tempesti
Born and residing in Prato, Fabrizio Tempesti approached photography during his high school years ('68). In '77 he joined the Fotoclub Il Bacchino BFI in Prato and began a more serious activity. Winner of numerous awards at important competitions valid for the statistics of the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations (FIAF), he is animator of significant cultural activities, director of the FIAF Events Department and for 9 years National Councilor. In May 2013 he is also made Italian Insigne Photographer.
Some of his publications are: Reperti Industriali (1982); Prato, City of Merchants (1983); I sassi acuti della Calvana (1993); Il tempo dei cento colpi (1996); Storie diverse di gente comuni (2014); L'ombra della luce (2019); Kepos, un giardino che pulsa a ritmo del cuore (2022).
His photographs have been exhibited in group exhibitions and included in the relevant publications Un Paese unico, Italia fotografie (Alinari, 1997); Immagini del gusto (FIAF-Slow Food, 2005 and FIAF, 2008); Passione Italia, Una giornata Italiana (FIAF, March 17, 2011); Tanti per tutti, viaggio nel volontariato italiano (FIAF, 2016); La Famiglia in Italia (FIAF, 2018); Ambiente Clima Futuro (FIAF, 2022).
In 2015 he was one of ten Samsung Testimonials for FIAF's project Tanti per Tutti, a journey through Italian volunteerism, and in 2016 the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations named him FIAF Author of the Year.
