The 17th edition of the children's theatre festival entitled 'In the belly of the Whale', organised by the municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno and the Teatrombria association to promote figure theatre, is kicking off.
It starts on 27 December, when the Teatrombria company will perform 'Today's Wedding...news from Cinderella's Wedding': a show freely adapted from the Cinderella fairy tale, with actors, puppets and puppet actors portraying the backstage of that celebration. The appointment is set for 5 p.m., at the Teatro Il Vivaio (via San Francesco di Assisi, Incisa).
On 9 January, however, we will move to the Teatro Salesiani (via Roma, Figline) where the Atto due company will perform 'Nel Mar dei Sargassi': a shadow play that tells the story of pirates and freebooters, grappling with the search for treasure.
On 24 January, it will then be the turn of the company Coltelleria Einstein to take the stage at the Teatro del Vivaio, starting at 5pm, with the show 'The Happy Prince and the Winter Swallow', freely adapted from the short story 'The Happy Prince' by Oscar Wilde.
The festival will close on 6 February, at the Salesian Theatre, with 'Pi..Pi..Pinocchio...'. The show, which pays homage to the famous puppet, will start at 5 p.m. and will be staged by the T.I.E.F.FU. company.
Tickets can be purchased directly on the evening of the performance.
Admission 5 euro adults, 1 euro for children up to 11 years.
