The eighteenth edition of "Le Notti dell'archeologia" (The Nights of Archaeology), an event promoted by the Region of Tuscany and the Chianti and Valdarno Museum System, in collaboration with the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio Firenze, will also stop in Figline on Thursday 5 July. For the entire month of July, the event includes extraordinary openings (evenings and nights) and ad hoc events in museums, areas of historical interest, and archaeological parks throughout Tuscany.
Thetheme chosen for the 2018 edition is 'Heroes and Myths of Antiquity'. For this reason, the municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno has decided to decline it with an event dedicated to Etruscan divinities, in the wake of a review on the same theme that has been very successful in the area in recent months.
OnThursday, the appointment is set for 9.30 p.m. at the Palazzo Pretorio (Piazza San Francesco, Figline) for the show 'La notte degli dei. The Phanteon, the culture and traces of Etruscan civilisation'. This is a theatrical performance on Etruscan divinities, taken from the show 'Previous Occupation: Gods', conceived and directed by Dimitri Frosali on the occasion of Etruscan Day.
On stage: Jlenia Ioio, Elisa Poggi, Tommaso Petreni, Carlo Menicatti, Francesco Rosselli, Elisa Bagni, Enrico Rossi.
After the show, there will also be a guided tour of the first part of the exhibition 'Understanding Archaeology', created as part of the project 'Traces of Invisible Archaeology in the Upper Valdarno' and curated by Archeo Club.
It should be noted that the exhibition - open to the public until last month - consists of photos, objects and panels produced by the participants in the workshops that Archeo Club conducted in schools, local summer centres and other public occasions. The second part of the exhibition, scheduled from September to November, will instead display original Etruscan artefacts from the excavations carried out at La Rotta, in Figline.
