On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Marsilio Ficino Public Library (on Vittorio Locchi Street in Figline) celebrates with readers by promoting "What's New in the Library," with the display and lending of new books.
From 3 p.m. to 7 p. m. there will be different moments: in addition to the presentation of new purchases, there will be a mindful snack made in collaboration with theConkarma Association.
In addition, at 5 p.m., after a greeting by Mayor Giulia Mugnai, there will be a presentation of the project of the Metropolitan City of Florence, carried out in collaboration with the Istituto degli Innocenti and funded by the Tuscany Region, "In Biblioteca lib(e)ri da pregiudizi," in which the Figline Library is participating as the first host of the scheduled meetings (to be followed by Borgo San Lorenzo on Dec. 5, Certaldo on 9, Sesto Fiorentino on10 and Florence on 11). During each event, reading paths will be offered on gender stereotypes in children's literature and in in-depth essays in education and training.
The "New in the Library" initiative is included in the October-December Literary Agenda and was organized by the City of Figline and Incisa Valdarno.
