The "Literary Agenda" review that the City Council, in collaboration with the BiblioCoop reading point, Circolo Fanin, the Garden and the Zimmerclub association, is organizing to promote reading in the area has restarted. Many initiatives are scheduled until Thursday, December 15: from meetings with authors to presentations of the latest book acquisitions in the library, from the great classics of literature.
On Saturday, Oct. 13, at 5 p.m., the appointment is at Cinema Nuovo (Via Roma 15, Figline) for the presentation of the thesis "The Set of the Thousand and One Nights. The Castle of Sammezzano in the History of Cinema" by Carlo Menicatti, published by the Council of the Tuscany Region.
Presented by Luigi Nepi and speakers include regional councilor Valentina Vadi and Massimo Sottani, chairman of the Ferdinando Panciatichi Ximenes d'Aragona Committee, which wanted to give the castle (especially its inner part) an oriental look.
During the evening, the history of all the sets at Sammezzano Castle will be traced through film clips, music videos, TV commercials, news reports and much other material, aired between the 1970s and 1990s when the castle was active as a hotel and restaurant.
FOLLOWING - The evening will continue at Circolo Arci Rinascita (Via Roma 17, Figline) with the group photo exhibition "Between History and Orientalism," curated by the Foto d'Arte Lab association.
