Once again this year, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, associations and the entire community are engaging in a two-week awareness and sensitization drive, Nov. 13-27, to combat gender-based violence and women's self-determination.
Accompanying the photo exhibition "Women and Work: A Way Against Violence," organized in collaboration with Circolo Fotografico Arno, from Monday 21 to Saturday 26, a gender violence-themed bookshelf will be set up in the Figline and Incisa Valdarno Municipal Libraries, "Marsilio Ficino" and "Gilberto Rovai," with readings available for both reference and borrowing.

THE CALENDAR.
On Friday, 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Villa Campori Gardens in Incisa with the memorial ceremony "A Flower to Remember" for all victims of feminicide. Scheduled are poetry readings and the placement of flowers on the red bench dedicated to Alessandra Barluzzi, an Incisa woman killed by her partner in 2001. It will continue with a flashmob at the red bench at Casa Martelli at 11 a.m. and then close with an awareness-raising apericena at Il Ritrovo Café in Incisa at 8 p.m.
The calendar of initiatives will close on Saturday 26 with thenaming of the garden area in Corso Vittorio Veneto, Figline, where the installation in memory of victims of feminicide was placed in June 2021, 10:30 a.m., afterAlessandra Barluzzi, and an afternoon of theatrical readings, starting at 5 p.m., entitled "Not even with a finger! Together against all violence and for the freedom of all women" at the Members' Space at Coop.fi on Via Ungheria in Figline.
The "Women and Work" exhibition, the "A Flower to Remember" ceremony and the naming of the area after Alessandra Barluzzi are organized by the SPI CGIL Lega Valdarno Fiorentino Women's Coordination, FNP CISL Valdisieve Valdarno - Coordinamento Donne Firenze Prato and UILP Firenze, with the support of 18 associations in the area.
