The Festival at Pian d'Albero, organized by the Arci of Incisa in collaboration with the Red Cross and Pro Civ and under the patronage of the municipality, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23, to commemorate the Nazi-Fascist massacre that took place there 74 years ago.
It will start at 9 a.m. from Piazza Auzzi, where the meeting and departure (by own means) is set in the direction of Poggio alla Croce, from where the walk on the path to the Cavicchi farmhouse will begin. Accompanying those present will be the environmental guide Oliviero Buccianti, who will dwell both on the historical events that occurred in that area and on its naturalistic peculiarities. Once at the Cavicchi farmhouse in Pian d'Albero, it will be Matteo Barucci 's turn to present his book "On the Road to Florence. La Brigata Sinigaglia e la strage di Pian d'Albero del 20 giugno 1944." Also present will be Giuseppina Cavicchi, who lost her grandfather, father and brother Aronne, only 14 years old, in that massacre.
This will be followed by lunch, offered by the Circolo Arci of Incisa, and a story, theater and music workshop dedicated to children. Its title is "The Magic Circle," and it consists of the construction of scenes through the use of sound instruments and in expressive games, to be carried out together with the Diesis Teatrango company .
Then there will also be room for the theater and music performance entitled "From the Mountains you could see the city - a partisan tale," by Piero Cherici and Ciro Gallorano .
Finally, we will return to Incisa via Badia Monte Scalari and Monte Moggino.
