The Museum of Peasant Civilization, housed in the premises adjacent to the Pieve di San Romolo in Gaville, is a curious reality, rich in history and tools belonging to the past. In anticipation of its reopening, the volunteers who take care of it will bring out some baskets from the facility, so that begins The morning of discovering the art of "basketry"!
The ancient baskets will be brought to La Palagina Farm (Via Grevigiana 4, Figline), the venue for the event. After a brief explanation of the weaving techniques that differentiate the various baskets, according to their function and use, with the help of Enzo Ruscitti, participants will be able to try making their own basket that they will then take home.
The Farm, with its animals, will be the setting for this special initiative for young and old alike. Reservations are required by contacting: 055.9125311 - 055.9125253 - cultura@comunefiv.it. The maximum number of participants is 20 people. The workshop activity includes a €5 expense reimbursement to the Museum of Rural Civilization.
The event is scheduled among the initiatives of Waiting for Autumnia, focused this year on "Health Coming from the Environment," again in connection with Agriculture-Food-Environment, the "three A's" of Autumnia(click here for the full program). Organized by the Museum of Farming Civilization in Gaville and the Municipality of Figline and Incisa in collaboration with La Palagina Farm.
