The 10th Reading of the Perlamora Festival is set for Dec. 8, officially marking the conclusion of the 2017 edition at the historic agricultural cultural center of the same name (at 29 Golfonaia Street, Pavelli in Figline).
The title of the reading is "For a Europe Common Home of Peoples and Cultures" and will start at 4:30 p.m. It will begin with a greeting by Lorenzo Melani, president of the Perlamora Permanent Documentation Point for Peace and Human Rights, coordinated by Giorgio Torricelli. Next, Giuseppe Torchia, mayor of Vinci, will take the floor.
At 5 p.m. space will be given to the presentation of volume number 514 of Testimony magazine, entitled "The Europe We Love." Giorgio Federici (University of Florence), Leila El Houssi (University of Padua) and Severino Saccardi (editor of Testimony) will speak on the topic.
The afternoon will continue with a talk by Alfiero Ciampolini (spokesperson for the Forum for International Activities of Tuscany) on the Europe of migrants and one byCouncillor Sauro Testi (Municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno) entitled "Twenty years since Srebrenica: the war in the heart of Europe." This will be followed by thematic readings by Giampiero Bigazzi, to musical accompaniment i Simone Baldini Tosi.
The afternoon's conclusions will be given by Lorenzo Melani .
This will be followed by an appetizer-buffet offered by the Perlamora Agricultural Historical Cultural Center.
