Once again this year, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, associations and the entire community are engaging in a two-week awareness and sensitization drive, Nov. 13-27, to combat gender-based violence and women's self-determination.
During the photo exhibition "Women and Work: a Way Against Violence," which runs through the 27th, and in conjunction with the gender violence-themed shelf at the municipal libraries, Friday, Nov. 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Villa Campori Gardens in Incisa with the memorial ceremony "A Flower to Remember" for all victims of feminicide. In memory of all victims of feminicide, poems will be read and flowers will be placed on the red bench dedicated to Alessandra Barluzzi, an Incisa resident killed by her partner in 2001.
It will continue with a flashmob at the red bench at Casa Martelli at 11 a.m., by ASP Lodovico Martelli, and then close with an information and awareness apericena by Circolo ARCI Incisa APS at Il Ritrovo Cafe in Incisa at 8 p.m. with cost 12 euros per person. Proceeds will be donated to the Artemisia Association.
Exhibition and memorial ceremony by the SPI CGIL Women's Coordination League Valdarno Fiorentino, FNP CISL Valdisieve Valdarno - Women's Coordination Florence Prato and UILP Florence, with the adherence of 18 associations in the area.

The calendar of initiatives will close on Saturday 26 with thenaming of the garden area in Corso Vittorio Veneto, Figline, where the installation in memory of victims of feminicide was placed in June 2021, 10:30 a.m., afterAlessandra Barluzzi, and an afternoon of theatrical readings, starting at 5 p.m., entitled "Not even with a finger! Together against all violence and for the freedom of all women" at the Members' Space at Coop.fi on Via Ungheria in Figline.
