How animals talk
On the occasion of Waiting for Autumnia, the City of Figline and Incisa Valdarno is organizing a workshop for children ages 6 to 11 in collaboration with OpenLab, of the University of Florence.
The workshop will be held at the Municipal Library "Marsilio Ficino" in Figline at 10:00 a.m.
In this lab we will go to study what sound is, do experiments to understand the physics of sound, and, most importantly, focus on bioacoustics, that is, studying the acoustic signals of animals: calls for a partner, calls between mother and pups, alarm calls, and we will also study the echolocation of bats. In addition, a wolf-howling experience , a technique used to study wolf howls, will also be reproduced in the classroom.
Free participation, limited seats, reservations required.
Duration: about 1h 30
