Autumnia is the event dedicated to agriculture, environment and food, but also to families. It is child-friendly, in fact, that the livestock area of the Misericordia Gardens, among the most popular precisely because of the presence of barn and farm animals.
In addition to the animals, the program includes two days of workshops, suitable for children ages 5 and up. It starts on Saturday 11 at 10 a.m. with breakfast provided by Mukki, consisting of yogurt and milk. This will be followed by a free drawing session for young participants. On Saturday 11, Mukki-branded tastings will be repeated at 3 p.m., while at 4 p.m. the Oasi farm will involve children in making potato tortelli. And the tastings offered by the "Granaio dei Medici" (at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. both Saturday 11 and Sunday 12) will also be based on potato tortelli, followed closely by the honey extraction lesson by the Valleri farm in Figline (5:30 p.m. Saturday 11 and Sunday 12). At 3 p.m. on Sunday 12, the appointment is double, with a Mukki-branded snack and children's workshops themed on bread-making and cheese-making. In addition, for the duration of the event, the Regional Breeders Association is also planning hands-on workshops for children, while the Margherita Ranch will set up the traditional Indian camp. At the same time, the Civil Defense camp (in collaboration with Gaib) and the adventure trail (in the Pine Forest area, in collaboration with the Fuoritraccia association) will be set up on Del Puglia Street.
Also with an animal theme, there are two appointments not to be missed: one will be held Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in the green area of Via Del Puglia, where the Civil Defense dog exercise is scheduled; the other will be held Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. in the Mercy Garden, in cooperation with Enpa. At the same time, a fire brigade drill will be held on Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. in Nov. IV Square.
Dedicated to schools, on the other hand, is the Tree Festival, an anniversary that is officially celebrated nationwide on Nov. 21 but which the City of Figline and Incisa Valdarno is used to anticipating so as to incorporate it into the Autumnia program. For the occasion, elementary school children will gather on Friday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Via Colombo Garden in Figline and will be involved in planting some trees . This is a way to raise awareness of environmental issues among the youngest children by getting them personally involved.
And it is also on the same wavelength that the initiative promoted by the Administration in collaboration with Libera, which will be the protagonist of an event on the same day (Friday 7 p.m., in Piazza Ficino): the gardeners of the Municipality, with the collaboration of Lettera 8, will in fact create a green area to draw attention to the issue, recreating a pathway on which the names of those who have fought against the mafias will stand; all citizens, moreover, will be able to leave their own message hanging from an olive tree, a symbol of peace, which will be placed in that very area.
