The events of "Let's Do Christmas Together," the program of events to be held in Figline and Incisa from December to January to celebrate the holiday season, continue. They are being organized by the City Council, together with the Pro Loco Aldo Caselli and Marsilio Ficino, the natural shopping centers Il Granaio and Le Botteghe del Petrarca, and in collaboration with various local businesses.
There are many events scheduled in the city on Dec. 23.
It starts at 3 p.m. from Ficino Square, where the company Terzo Studio will stage "Tante storie." This is a show (in rhyme and rhyme) of puppets and marionettes, to musical accompaniment on the accordion. This will be followed by cotton candy for all and a traveling performance by the Schiacchetrà Street Band, a group of 15 musicians who will play throughout Figline's historic center.
At 4 p.m., we will move to the Collegiate Church for the Christmas Concert of the Shumann School of Music, which will perform together with the Valdarno Youth Orchestra, the Alessandri Chorale and the cultural association Progetto Cuvèe. Traditional themed music and works by Bach, Haendel, Bellini, and Verdi will be on the setlist. Conducting the concert will be Frano Berti.
The evening will also continue with music in the Church of St. Francis where, starting at 9:30 p.m., the Garibaldi Theater Choir, directed by Alessandro Papini, will perform traditional and contemporary Christmas songs. The pieces will be performed a cappella, to enhance the sounds of the individual voices.
