A meeting as part of the 'Visionaries and/or Prophets' cycle promoted by the Accademia Valdarnese del Poggio over the past two years and dedicated to the figure of Franco Battiato, the popular singer-songwriter who passed away in May 2021.
Although his personality cannot be classified under any religious denomination, he testified through his art to a profound spiritual sensitivity, but above all to an untiring desire to explore all paths that could offer mankind the possibility of escaping flattening, banality and indifference.
Battiato will be remembered in the meeting to be held in Room C of the Loppiano Auditorium on Saturday 28 May 2022, at 5.30 p.m.
Professor Lorenzo Tanzini, president of the Accademia Valdarnese del Poggio, will introduce.
Professor Valentina Gaudiano, Professor of Philosophical Anthropology at the Sophia University Institute in Loppiano, will trace Battiato's artistic and human profile.
The speech will be interspersed with musical quotations and the voice of singer and pianist Isabel Pané.
An FFP2 mask is required to participate in the event.
