After those in Figline, the Feste del Perdono (Forgiveness Festivals) will also return to Incisa, to be held from Friday 18 to Tuesday 22 September. For the occasion, the Pro loco of Incisa has organised a series of events, which will involve the historical centre of the town. It starts on the 18th with the funfair, which for the duration of the festival will open at 4 p.m. (tickets will be sold directly on site). At 9.30 p.m., Piazza Santa Lucia will be transformed into a performance area, in the company of Federico Silei, who will take care of the piano bar.
On Saturday 19, the festival will continue with an antiques and modern antiques market, which will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight from Lungarno Matteotti to Piazza Santa Lucia. The exhibition will be repeated in the same way until Tuesday 22.
From 3 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., however, we will move to the 'Stefano Borgonovo' sports centre: it is there that a series of sports activities organised by the Fun Tennis ASD and TennisLab associations will take place. These include a historical re-enactment dedicated to tennis at the beginning of the 20th century, which will be preceded by an apericena (7.30 pm). The Dinner of Forgiveness, organised by the parish of St Alexander, is instead scheduled for 8 pm in the Town Hall Square. Reservations can be made by going to the parish on Saturday. Space will also be given to music, with Manuela Ross performing 70s and 80s songs in Piazza Santa Lucia (9.30 pm).
On Sunday 20, the festivities will begin at 7.45 a.m., when motorcycling enthusiasts will be able to take part in the 29th Ducati Italian Motorcycle Exhibition in Piazza Pertini. At the same time, Viale XX Settembre and Via Olimpia will host a market fair (from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.), while sports activities will continue in the 'Stefano Borgonovo' sports centre (from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.). The afternoon will then be dedicated to shows. It starts at 4.30 pm in Piazza della Repubblica, with the first ballroom dance of the day. At 5.30 p.m., on the other hand, the 'Frozen' themed children's show will be held in Piazza Santa Lucia. This will be followed by the tombola organised by the Mcl club in Piazza della Repubblica (7 pm) and the second ballroom dance of the evening, this time in Piazza Santa Lucia, to the notes of the 'Delfini blu' orchestra (9.30 pm).
It continues to the sound of music on 21 September, with the baby dance organised by Luzi Dj (5 pm). At 9 p.m., the six historical contrade will parade in Via Pertini, competing in the Palio dei Ciuchi, the banner painted by Paola Imposimato (10 p.m., municipal stadium in Incisa). Tickets will go on sale on Sunday 20 from 5 p.m. at the Compagnia delle Contrade stand: the cost is 5 euro for the central grandstand and 3.50 euro for the side grandstand (to allow more people to purchase tickets, a maximum of 5 per person will be allowed).
The Feste del Perdono will continue until 22 September, with a modern dance, zumba and group cycling performance by the sport and culture group of the Associazione Polisportiva Dilettantistica (9 p.m., Piazza Santa Lucia). The traditional fireworks display on the Arno will close the celebrations, starting at 11.45 pm.
"Our thanks go first of all to those who have worked over the past few months to organise such a rich programme," commented mayor Mugnai and councillor Tilli. "There really are events and initiatives for all tastes, including the Palio dei Ciuchi, which will be revived again this year at the municipal stadium thanks to a fine collaboration between the six contrade.
