The series of meetings promoted by the Garibaldi Theater Chorus and dedicated to an in-depth look at the concerts on the bill in Figline for the 2017-18 season continues. A real listening guide that, on the occasion of the Carnival concert, will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at 5:30 p.m. at the Ridotto del Garibaldi (Piazza Serristori-Figline, free admission).
It is there that the director of the Garibaldi Theater Chorus, Alessandro Papini, will talk about Mozart, Dvořák, Prokof'ev, whose works will be performed by the Orchestra of Tuscany on Feb. 14. The set list for that concert, which will be conducted by maestro Eiji Oue and accompanied by Nemanja Radulovic's violin, includes the following performances:
Symphony No. 1 in D major, op. 25 "Classical Symphony" by Prokofiev; Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor, op. 63 by Prokofiev; Nocturne in B major for Strings, op. 40 by Dvorˇák; Symphony No. 38 in D major, k. 504 "Prague" by Mozart.
Introductory and in-depth concert series meetings will continue throughout the 2017/18 theater season on these dates: March 24 with Ryan McAdams (conductor) and Ksenija Sidorova (accordion and bandoneon), April 10 with Lorenza Borrani (conductor and violin), Anthony Romaniuk (harpsichord) and Chiara Morandi (violin), and April 19 with George Pehlivanian (conductor) and Alessandro Carbonare (clarinet).
