The Maggio Metropolitano event will also make a stop in Figline and Incisa again , which, after the success of the first edition, expands the programming of concerts, meetings and conferences to all 42 municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Florence (last year there were 20 municipalities involved, including Figline and Incisa Valdarno), distributing more than 120 events in 7 months of programming that runs from the end of August 2018 to March 2019.
The project, funded by the Metropolitan City of Florence, and implemented by the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Theater Foundation in collaboration with Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo onlus and Firenze dei Teatri, encompasses all 42 municipalities (including Florence) distributed in the five target areas of Chianti, the Florentine Belt, Empolese and Valdelsa, Mugello, Valdarno and Valdisieve.
All the territories involved will have Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as their guest (mainly the Orchestra and Chorus, but also chamber groups, soloists and some special guests) for concerts, lectures and meetings that will mainly bring the contacts and contents of the Theater directly "home" to those who do not reside in the capital city, but not only: the Maggio will open its doors to metropolitan citizens for open rehearsals of performances and further lectures .
The whole cycle of initiatives, from lectures to concerts to open rehearsals of May operas and concerts and children's shows, stems from the assumption that the social and economic development of a community, whether small or large, also passes through its cultural growth. Admission is free.
