Thirteen short stories have been selected as finalists in the Petrarch.Fiv literary contest. The preliminary jury consists of the editors of The Echo of Nothingmagazine, who selected the 13 stories from more than 70 unpublished texts.
Saturday, Feb. 25, at 5 p.m., at the Ridotto of the Garibaldi Municipal Theater in Figline, is scheduled the first reading of the selected texts, which will be performed by actors from the Bottega instabile theater company and presented by their authors. It will be the audience's vote and the popular ranking of the texts, which will then go to the final evaluation of a panel of judges.
Here's who it consists of: writer Veronica Galletta, author of Le isole di Norman (ItaloSvevo) and the Strega Prize finalist novel Nina sull'argine (Minimum fax); Martin Hofer, editor of L'inquieto magazine; Silvia La Posta, editor of Moscabianca edizioni; and writer Marco Marrucci, author for Racconti edizioni of the collections Ovunque sulla Terra gli uomini and Novena.
The overall winner of the Petrarch Competition.FIV and the volume containing the finalist stories will be presented on May 27, during the final awards evening scheduled at Casa Petrarca.
