"Fly to the Library," the quarterly series of meetings organized by the Municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno, in collaboration with the Zimmer club association and the Figline BiblioCoop, continues to promote reading in the area among different age groups.
The appointment is set for Friday, November 11, at 5 p.m., at the "Marsilio Ficino" Library (via Locchi, Figline), with the presentation of the book "Maldifiume. Acqua, passi e gente d'Arno" by Simona Baldanzi (Ediciclo editore; 2016). A way to reflect (in a passionate and poetic way) on the river and its communities, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Florence flood (which falls on Nov. 4).
In addition, Baldanzi's volume is the first in a new series, published by Ediciclo and titled "The Wayfarer's Library," under the direction of Luigi Nacci. All covers in the series, including "Maldifiume," will be drawn by illustrator Fabio Consoli.
The author* will also be present at the meeting.

She officially landed in the world of writing in 1996, when she participated in the final of the Campiello Giovani Prize with the short story "Finestrella viola." It was in 2006, however, that she made her debut with her promo novel "Figlia di una vestaglia blu" (Fazi Edition), which intertwines the vicissitudes of Rifle's textile workers with those of the TAV construction workers in Mugello and has won several awards (Fahrenheit Radio Rai tre's Best Debut Award, the Minerva Literature Prize for Civil Commitment, as well as being a finalist for the "Viareggio Repaci," "Fiesole Narrativa under 40" and "Chianti" awards).
