It is called Africa 2017 and is the photography project that will be presented at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Palazzo Pretorio in Figline (Piazza San Francesco). This project, sponsored by the municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno, is part ofthe AmicAfrica program of the Salesian Fathers of Florence, which aims to offer help (including financial) to some needy families in Cameroon and Congo, to meet basic needs and promote schooling.
The opening of the exhibition - curated by Valerio Pianigiani, who is also the author of the shots - will be an opportunity to watch a screening of the trip (dated August 2017) from which it originated and to talk about an upcoming project, the construction of a school in Africa. Supporters of the project will also be honored during the afternoon, with certificates being presented. This will be followed by a charity dinner-buffet, to be held in Piazza Ficino at Stroncapane Restaurant, at a cost of 10 euros. Proceeds will be donated to the AmicAfrica project.
