Valentine's Day sees the return of the ceremony dedicated to the couples of Figline and Incisa Valdarno who have reached their 50th year of marriage. An anniversary that will involve 85 couples, who will be presented with a parchment dedicated to their golden wedding anniversary by the mayor Giulia Mugnai and the councillor for Social Policies, Ottavia Mazzini.
The appointment is set for 10 a.m. on Sunday, 14 February, at the Teatro dei Salesiani (Via Roma 20, Figline), where couples will also be able to have their photo taken as a souvenir of their day of celebration. Those who cannot attend the ceremony, however, will be able to collect their parchment from 15 February onwards, at the mayor's office on the following days: Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Incisa; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Figline.
But the meeting at the Salesians is not the only event planned in Figline on the occasion of Lovers' Day. In the afternoon, in fact, the Pro Loco 'Marsilio Ficino' has organised a musical event entitled 'Alkimie d'amore', which will be held in Palazzo Pretorio (Sala 'Egisto Sarri'; Piazza San Francesco). It is a multicultural event, halfway between music and poetry, curated by Donatella Alamprese. The Tuscan singer - fresh from several tango tours, from Japan to Argentina - will perform from 4.30 p.m. onwards, to the musical accompaniment of Marco Giacomini (guitar).
"Alkimie d'amore" is only the first in a cycle of literary salons organised by the Figline Pro Loco from February to April. The next appointments are set for 27 February with "The Poetry of Danilo Breschi" (Istituto Marsilio Ficino, 4.30 p.m.), 13 March with "Female Literature" (Palazzo Pretorio, 4.30 p.m.) and 2 April with "Arpeggios among the Verses" (Istituto M. Ficino, 4.30 p.m.).
