100 years after the Russian Revolution, the Municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno has also chosen to remember it through in-depth meetings and performances. The main among them is titled "Majakovsky, the future comes from the old but has the breath of a boy" and is a musical performance by Materiali Sonori, scheduled for Nov. 16 at 9:15 p.m. at the Ridotto of the Garibaldi Theater (Piazza Serristori, Figline). It is a way of remembering the figure of this celebrated Russian intellectual, a cantor of the October Revolution and the new post-revolutionary socio-cultural climate, who through his poems dated 1915-1930 recounted both the historical context of reference and his personal life experience. Interpreting the texts will be Chiara Cappelli, to the musical accompaniment of Francesco Cusumano(guitar) and Arlo Bigazzi (bass) and directed by Lorenzo Boscucci . Also used throughout the evening will be electronic rhythms and sounds recorded and deconstructed by Lorenzo Moka Tommasini .
In addition to this theatrical performance, there are many side events promoted by local associations. The next scheduled one is set for Nov. 17, at 5:30 p.m. Prof. Sergio Sammicheli will again take the floor, telling the story of the revolution ary and post-revolutionary period , up to Lenin's death (Ariano Hall of Circolo Fanin, Via Magherini Graziani 3 - Figline). The review will close on Dec. 7 at the Arci Rinascita club, where starting at 9:15 p.m. Prof. Leonardo Paggi (professor of Contemporary History at the University of Modena) will talk about the role of the October Revolution in the history of the 20th century. Admission is free.
