On Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 9:15 p.m., at the Nuovo Cinema in Figline (Via Roma, entrance fee of 5 euros), Alessandro D'Alessandro's docufilm "Barbiana '65," which was presented this summer at the Venice Film Festival, will be screened. It is a work built on previously unseen footage shot in Barbiana in 1965 by the director's father, Angelo D'Alessandro. What emerges is a largely unpublished and even surprising Don Milani. Enriched by clips of interviews with Luigi Ciotti, Adele Corradi and Beniamino Deidda, the docufilm offers a beautiful and effective synthesis of the experience and testimony of the Prior of Barbiana.
Presenting and commenting on the film will be one of the producers, Laura Pettini, and Sandra Gesualdi of the Don Lorenzo Milani Foundation.
The initiative is curated by the Culture Department of the City of Figline and Incisa Valdarno, the Don Lorenzo Milani Foundation, the Culture Commission of the Diocese of Fiesole, the Don Bosco Oratory, the Marsilio Ficino Institute and the Community of San Leolino.
