The second event of "A Book at Breakfast," proposed by the City of Figline and Incisa Valdarno in the October-December Literary Agenda, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10, again at the Marsilio Ficino Municipal Library (on Vittorio Locchi Street in Figline) from 10:30 a.m.
Once again there will be a mindful breakfast curated by the Conkarma Association: a small tasting and a short lesson for all ages, tips, recipes, nutritional guidance and good cooking practices under the direction of Moreno Menicati (cooking teacher) and Elisa Spaghetti (dietitian and nutritionist).
Filippo Ferrantini, biologist and environmental expert will present his book We are but Trees, an essay discovering the Wood of Men: an opportunity to explore the plant world and find ourselves in our surroundings. "Every tree has its own character, just like every person," and, the essay, analyzes these equalities by devoting a chapter and a photograph to each tree.
Finally, a literary walk will start from the Library and lead to the "story wood," the grove adjacent to the parking lot on Giovan Battista del Puglia Street, a place where in the 1970s-80s they used to take schoolchildren to plant saplings.
On the weekend of Nov. 8-10, there will be Autumnia 2019 in Figline, and the event "A Book for Breakfast" totally matches the themes of the event, "Agriculture-Environment-Food."
