It will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. Thelast event of the 2016 Festa della Toscana, organized again this year by the Presidency of the City Council and theFigline and Incisa Valdarno Department of Culture with a full calendar of events.
The appointment is set in the Cloister of the parish church of San Romolo in Gaville, where a day of study and insight into Tuscan farming culture and landscape, from the farmhouse to the working land, will be held.
The program will include a lecture by Professor Anna Guarducci of the Department of Historical Sciences and Cultural Heritage at the University of Siena on "Pietro Leopoldo and the Construction of the Tuscan Landscape," that is, a study of his reforms, innovations in agriculture and rural construction.
The lecture will be followed by the presentation of a study by architect Claudia Cerelli on the Leopoldine buildings in our area and a guided tour of the Casa della Civiltà Contadina museum in Gaville, where objects of daily life and working tools of the peasant world are preserved. This will end with a tasting of traditional peasant dishes.
