Folklore, tradition, innovation and lots of laughter. This is how the2016 edition of the Figline Pardon Festival, promoted by the Pro loco "Marsilio Ficino" under the patronage of the Municipality of Figline and Incisa Valdarno (Figline historic center; Sept. 2-6), will be officially kicked off.
In fact, after the solemn procession, departing from St. Francis Square at 9 p.m . in the company of the city's Contrade and the Sbandieratori dei Borghi e dei Sestieri, a musical comedy show is planned, with free admission.
The appointment is in Piazza Marsilio Ficino, at 10 p.m., with the show "Selfie," which will be brought to the stage by Lorenzo Baglioni (Tuscan comedian and actor) together with his band. It is a performance replicated more than 50 times throughout the region (for a total of more than 25,000 spectators) since last February 2015, the debut date for this stand-up comedy written by Lorenzo Baglioni himself together with his brother Michele.
Among his many hits, promoted through his Youtube channel, are also several music tracks, such as the ironic song dedicated to girls in Florentine clubs (May 2015), "Firenze da quassù" (launched in February 2016, on the occasion of the pedestrianization of Piazzale Michelangelo) and "Canzone dei 90 anni viola" (dated August 22 and created to celebrate Fiorentina's 90th birthday).
After focusing-through the conception of the show "Selfie "-on the comedic side of social media and the publication of photographic content depicting themselves, the Baglioni brothers are currently at work writing a new show and film, once again focusing on user behavior on the web.
Finally, please note that for the duration of the event, the amusement park (in Freedom Square), the Don Bosco Oratory charity fair (Via Roma 18), the "Clouds" painting exhibition by Dr. Cuccuini (Praetorian Palace; opening Sept. 3 at 10:30 a.m.), the photographic exhibition on the '900s (by the Arno photography club, in St. Francis Square), along with the first edition of the painting competition (by the Arno photography club, in St. Francis Square), will remain open. Cuccuini (Palazzo Pretorio; opening Sept. 3 at 10:30 a.m.), the photo exhibition on the 1900s (by the Arno Photographic Circle, in Piazza San Francesco), along with the first edition of the painting competition of the Insieme per il Meyer association (Fanin circle; 6-10 p.m.) and the Aseba fundraiser (in Piazza Ficino).
